Even though the Montreal History Museums did not receive any public funding this year to organize the Festival, the museums and their partners decided to go ahead and celebrate in their own way the 382<sup>nd<\/sup> anniversary of Montreal. They firmly believe in their mission to sensitize Montrealers to their history and heritage and also to promote it in some more relaxed and spontaneous ways than their regular programming.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe <strong>Festival d\u2019Histoire de\u00a0Montr\u00e9al<\/strong> is a highlight of the year. People and families of all backgrounds can participate, often free of charge, in history-related activities stimulating curiosity and the pleasure of discovery. Despite this year\u2019s difficulties, the Festival museums and partners will offer programs in all their facilities. Over three days, the history of Montreal and its citizens will be celebrated, through an exceptional collaboration. We are sure that these activities will be enlightening and will help give meaning to the events we are living today.\u201d<strong> Andr\u00e9 Delisle, Director of the Ch\u00e2teau Ramezay Museum and President of the Montreal History Museums.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Programming featuring in-person and virtual activities <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For its 2024 lineup, the Festival d\u2019Histoire de\u00a0Montr\u00e9al is proposing over 30 activities to be held all over the city, developed by the 14 museums and their partners, who include the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Histoire Qu\u00e9bec, the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 historique de Montr\u00e9al and the Laboratoire d\u2019histoire et de patrimoine de Montr\u00e9al (UQAM). All kinds of activities will be happening \u2013 storytelling, games, urban circuits, witnessing, workshops, tastings, dancing and singing.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">\u00a0<\/span>\u201cWe want to bring together experts and the public at large in a weekend of festive activities, appealing to all, and touching subjects that are not always covered in our exhibitions. We invite all individuals or associations who would like to offer an activity to contact us about adding it to our program. The mission of the Montreal History Museums is to bring history to life in authentic ways.
