The McCord Stewart Museum is pleased to invite you to explore the exhibition Swallowing Mountains with Karen Tam, artist, and Guislaine Lemay, Curator of Material Cultural, who accompanied her during her residency at the McCord Stewart Museum.
As part of its Artist-in-Residence program, the McCord Stewart Museum is pleased to welcome artist Karen Tam, whose research investigates different ways of building and representing cultural identity through installation, sculpture, textile and drawing. While deeply involved in archival and collections research, she came to wonder about the stories that are collected and told, and about the narratives that have been built around the Chinese diaspora. The artist has continued this line of inquiry within the Museum’s collections.
Reservations required.
