Participate to the guided tours of the exhibition “The Château at the Time of College Students” from Friday, May 13 to Sunday, May 15.
The exhibition “The Château at the Time of College Students” is dedicated to one of Château Dufresne’s unknown eras as it was converted into a classical college for young boys for more than ten years, from 1948 to 1961. In this memorable place, the Sainte-Croix Classical College offered boys living in the eastern neighbourhoods of Montréal classes of Belles-Lettres, Rhethoric, Philosophy I and II. This slice of life of the Château reminds us of a not-so-distant time where the access to a higher level of education was not reachable for everyone. Located in the Château, the classical college conceived, in the eastern part of Montréal, a social and intellectual francophone elite, at the dawn of the Quiet Revolution.
Guided tours are offered in French at 10 am and 1 pm and in English at 3 pm from May 13 to 15.
No reservation required – Tickets available at the door
