The exhibition will showcase the archives of La Maison d’Haïti to allow the public to discover the history of the institution. By being involved in several important movements for the Haitian community as well as for Quebec community action, La Maison d’Haïti has actively participated, among other things, in the advancement of popular literacy, the fight against discrimination and racism, the defense of newcomers’ rights and women’s rights, and the social integration of youth. A photo exhibit will be on display in the outside windows and an installation of artifacts and archival documents will be on display inside to allow participants to explore this material and discover the evolution of activities and programs over time.
