THE MUSEUMS
Montreal has quite a history: lively, intense and multicultural! Come and discover or rediscover it in its 14 history, archeology and ethnology museums, accessible to everyone. Their collections and archives include more than 2.3 million objects and bear witness to the evolution of the territory of Montreal from prehistory to today. Each year, they present you with passion and precision more than 30 exhibitions and events, as well as regular visits and many online activities. Fourteen museums and as many ways to tell the story of the city and its past... and to make us love it even more.
The FESTIVAL
The Montreal History Museums are proud to present the third edition of the Montreal History Festival, from May 12 to 14, 2023. Montrealers of all ages and origins are invited to discover the history in all its facets and in all its states. With its fun and interactive programming, the Festival d’Histoire de Montréal offers you original themes that will make connections between our experiences, the society in which we live and those of our origins.
Le Salon de l'Histoire
En plus des activités offertes dans divers lieux et musées de la ville, le Festival présente pour la première fois le Salon de l’Histoire, à la Grande Place du Complexe Desjardins. Une occasion unique de rencontrer ceux qui dénichent, conservent, écrivent et valorisent la grande et la petite histoire de la ville et de ses quartiers.
