In a context of climate change, pandemics and deforestation, what can we learn from the trees of Mount Royal? What relationship to the plant world can we maintain while living in an urban center? Can trees offer us a rootedness that carries sustainable and inspiring values? What is the history of the origin of the park and the vision of its designer?
To find out, we invite you to immerse yourself in Portrait Sonore’s new immersive sound project, entitled “At the Root of the Tree,” which offers an intimate portrait that brings digital information technology and multidisciplinary expertise to bear on the trees. With ears wide open and feet well shod, we invite you to come and live this experience in the presence of trees and those who work closely with them: landscaper, forester, botanist, herbalist, draughtsman, biologist, and poet.
Download the free application called Sound Portrait available on the App Store or Google Play.
Bring your well-charged phone and good earphones to the foot of the mountain! This walk will be led by the designer and one of the speakers of the walk with a discussion planned at the foot of the stairs leading to the Grand Chalet (Peel entrance).
