Discover the collector and his collection at the heart of an ambitious geolocation project while exploring the main streets of Montréal.
Rare visual testimonies of a flourishing period for the city of Montreal, Edouard-Zotique Massicotte’s Albums de rue have inspired generations of historians. They are also one of the largest collections of early images of Montreal: 12 albums containing more than 6,000 drawings and photographs published between 1850 and 1915. Presentation by Jean-François Palomino, historian and coordinator of research and distribution of collections of Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ).
This activity is presented in collaboration with the Laboratoire d’histoire et de patrimoine de Montréal-UQÀM and the Société historique de Montréal.
